Who it’s for

  • A host and a guest

Camera A keeps both of you in a wide shot; camera B stays on your guest, so every answer has a close-up to cut to.

  • Interviews and testimonials

A clean close-up for the answers, plus a wider angle to cut to when you trim them.

  • Solo shows and explainers

One camera straight on, one from the side. Cutting between them hides edits and keeps a long take moving.

Camera plan · drawn to scale

Where every camera goes.

Camera A shoots the whole table from the front. Camera B sits beside the host and looks past their shoulder at the guest, about 20° off the guest’s eyeline.

Distances are camera-to-face for the Pocket 6K in 6K or 5.7K: focal length × frame width ÷ 23.1 mm sensor width. In 4K the sensor crops in, so stand about 1.5× farther back. Full distance guide

  • Both faces equally important? Put each camera on one person instead (Sigma at 35 mm, about 1.2 m / 4 ft away) and skip the wide.
  • Keep camera B just outside camera A’s frame: check A’s screen and slide B out until it disappears.
  • Set both cameras to the same frame rate before you start (our preset is 24 fps).

Arnold was a great help. Ready when needed but also provided helpful technical info. I’d never shot on the blackmagic and his tips and preset up, made it all come together.

FAQ · 2 cameras

Questions about this kit.

Deposits, pickup times and cancellations are on the full FAQ.

Are two cameras enough for a podcast?

For two people, yes: a wide shot and one close-up gives you something to cut to in every answer. If both people talk equally, the 3-camera kit adds the second close-up for $20 more per full day.

Which lenses come with the kit?

Every camera includes one lens: Sigma 18–35, Tamron 24–70, Tamron 70–200 — or bring your own Canon EF lens. The plan above uses 1 × Sigma 18–35, 1 × Tamron 24–70; you can change any of them when you build the kit. See all lenses.

How long can each camera record?

5+ hours per camera at our podcast preset (5.7K Blackmagic RAW 12:1, 24 fps) — up to ~10 hours in 4K. Each camera records to its own 1TB drive, and the camera shows the exact time left.

Can I add lights?

Yes. Godox daylight LED softbox lights are an add-on: 1 light $10, 2 lights $20, 3 lights $25 per day. How to light a podcast.
